My name is Paul-James White and I am currently studying a Doctorate in Mathematics at the University of Paris 7 under the generous support of the foundation “Sciences Mathématiques de Paris”. More specifically I am working under the supervision of Professor Michael Harris in the automorphic forms research group at Chevaleret. Ola
Ola Makhoul is a second year Ph.D student from the Mathematics and Theoretical Physics Laboratory of the University François-Rabelais (Tours, France). The Foundation gave her the opportunity to attend the Ricci Curvature and Ricci flow program of lectures and workshops in Centre Emile Borel (Paris).
Louis
Louis Dupaigne has been invited by the Fondation Sciences Mathématiques de Paris to attend the Singularities in mechanics three month's program of lectures and workshops in Centre Emile Borel (Paris).
Alexandra
As a Ph.D student working in one of the Foundation's labs, Alexandra Claisse enjoyed a research visit offered by the Foundation. She gives here her firt impressions about this sojourn in Chile.
Qiaoling
Qiaoling Wei is a student from Tsinghua University, in Beijing. She came in Paris for her second year of master, with the support of the Fondation Sciences Mathématiques de Paris.
Wen
Deng Wen is a chinese student come in Paris with the Foundation Sciences Mathématiques de Paris’s support. She is doing a master in Paris VI, with a speciality in fundamental mathematics.
Khalil
Etudiant venu de la faculté des sciences de Tunis, Khalil Chouk suit grâce à la Fondation un master en Mathématiques Fondamentales à l ’Université Paris Diderot. Il livre ses impressions sur la ville “Beaucoup de théories mathématiques ont été développées ici. Paris a une histoire mathématique prestigieuse et garde un avantage sur d’autres villes du monde.” Pour ce qui est des cours : “Les professeurs vont assez vite”, reconnaît l’étudiant dont les résultats aux premiers examens varient cependant entre 19 et 20. Celui qui qualifie les chargés de TD de “phénoménaux” ajoute : “L’environnement ici est très motivant. Il y a une véritable émulation entre les étudiants qui veulent réussir.”
