Scientific environnement
The scientific environment is exceptional: PGSM relies on the network of laboratories of the Fondation Sciences Mathématiques de Paris. This networks brings together all the mathematical sciences research teams in Paris and constitutes the most important research institution in the world in these fields. It includes over 1000 researchers, a large part of them teaching the masters in the three partner universities Pierre et Marie Curie, Paris-Diderot and Paris-Dauphine, in the best tradition of the French school of mathematics, with its strong international reputation.

Advice on courses
The selected students benefit from personalised advice from a lecturer at the Fondation Sciences Mathématiques de Paris who will be their tutor through their time at PGSM. The tutor advises them on what courses to choose in the masters of the three universities, depending on their previous education and their plans for further study. The students can get advice from their tutor through their two years at PGSM, in particular to determine their choices at the end of the first year and to consider the option of further study at the end of the master.
Direction of studies
The director of studies regularly checks on the scientific progress of PGSM students during periodic meetings. Individual support, relying on doctoral students for example, can be set up on a case-by-case basis.
PGSM seminar
The Fondation Sciences Mathématiques de Paris organises a bimonthly seminar for PGSM students. A broad range of topics is covered, scientific, cultural or organisational, at the initiative of lecturers and students.
Practical support
Environment
All PGSM activities are located in Paris intra-muros :
- The university Pierre et Marie Curie is located in the heart of the 5th arrondissement of Paris, part of the Latin Quarter, the traditional student's neighborhood since medieval times.
- The University Paris-Diderot has just moved to the 13th arrondissement of Paris, on the newly created univerisity campus of Paris Rive-Gauche.
- The University Paris-Dauphine is located in the 16th arrondissement of Paris, close to the Porte Dauphine and the Bois de Boulogne.
To complete their integration, PGSM students have the option of improving their French by attending the « Français, langue étrangère » courses offered by the universities.
Funding
PGSM students receive an annual scolarship of 1100 € net monthly. The Fondation Sciences Mathématiques de Paris also covers their return air ticket, student health insurance and university fees.
Accommodation
PGSM students have access to student accommodation with preferential conditions and benefit from student prices at university restaurants.
Public transport (Métro, RER, bus, tramway,…) provides rapid access to Paris universities.
Administrative help
The administration team of the Fondation Sciences Mathématiques de Paris provides personalised support to PGSM students and facilitates their insertion into Parisian life. It helps them in particular with administrative formalities, for example with university registration, visa applications and health care.
