The PGSM Masters

General organisation

The PGSM master is a two-year programme which recruits students who have completed a bachelor or equivalent in mathematical sciences. It conforms to the bachelor-master-doctorate European Union standard and is recognised by universities worldwide.
The courses, taught in English or with supporting documentation in English, are those of universities Pierre et Marie Curie, Paris-Diderot or Paris-Dauphine.
They are organised in units, with each unit corresponding to credits in the ECTS (European Credits Transfer System). 120 ECTS are required for the master’s degree.
Students in the PGSM programme who have passed the final examinations receive a master’s degree, attesting to the completion of five years of higher education, from one of the universities Pierre et Marie Curie, Paris-Diderot or Paris-Dauphine.

The three universities offer masters with research (R) and professional (P) specialisations in all the fields of mathematics and fundamental computer science.

In the case of research specialisations, studies may continue after the master with a doctorate to be completed in three more years. These specialisations rely on the network of laboratories of the Fondation Sciences Mathématiques de Paris, one of the most prestigious research institution worldwide.

In the case of professional specialisations, the master leads to the professional job market.
