A network of excellence
The Foundation Sciences Mathématiques de Paris is a network of excellence created in 2006. Its members are large research institutions in the Paris area: the universities of Pierre-et-Marie-Curie (UPMC) and Paris-Diderot (UPD P7), the Ecole Normale Supérieure (ENS), the National Center for Scientific Research (CNRS), the university of Paris-Dauphine, the university of Paris-Descartes, the Collège de France and the INRIA.
Bringing together close to 1100 researchers in mathematical sciences and covering a wide spectrum which includes most of the top themes in fundamental and applied mathematics, plus fundamental computer science, the Foundation is unique in its field, both by its dimension and its scientific potential.
The foundation has three main missions :
Focus
Augusto Teixeira awarded by AXA
Augusto Teixeira is one of the laureates of AXA 2010 Postdoctoral Fellowships. Texeira's application was presented by the Foundation. He has been selected for his project Corrosion and interlacement percolation.
Khalil Chouk awarded by AXA
Khalil Chouk, the foundation's candidate to Axa Research Fund's doctoral fellowships application, has been selected. He will do his thesis at the CEREMADE of University Paris-Dauphine .
